M24You GmbH, the exclusive global distributor of M2-Automation technology, is excited to announce its new cooperation with AIT, the Austrian Institute of Technology. The AIT (Austrian Institute of Technology) is Austria’s largest applied research institute. The collaboration between M24You GmbH and AIT represents an exciting opportunity for both companies to combine their expertise and solutions, resulting in the delivery of even more innovative approaches to the customers.

Within the AIT, the Competence Unit Molecular Diagnostics is at the forefront of developing cutting-edge technologies and innovative methods for non-invasive and minimally invasive diagnostics. The focus spans from mass-fabricable and cost-effective biosensing systems for point-of-need applications to biomarker discovery, assay design, bioinformatics, and customized analysis.

In the field of biosensor development, AIT addresses pivotal – firstly, how to bring a certain desired functionality to a sensor surface or microfluidic, and secondly, how to establish scalable fabrication processes for precise and reproducible modification of surfaces, such as electrodes in electrochemical sensors.

To bring assays to the surface, the AIT develops (bio)inks based on nanozymes, enzymes, nucleic acids, antibodies, aptamers, and redox-active or ion-selective compounds, having resource and environmentally-friendly material and processes. A pivotal aspect of product development involves seamlessly transitioning the assay from a laboratory scale to small-batch production.

To meet this demand, AIT is equipped with state-of-the-art non-contact liquid handling systems, including the M2-Automation iONE-600 instrument, known for its precision in position (±3 µm) and volume control (SD 3-5%). The dispenser enables the modification of substrates up to A3 size under a controlled atmosphere, ensuring reproducibility (humidifier, temperature control, ionizer, DEW-point) and efficiency. Its pico- and nanoliter dispensing units allow precise modification of target structures (dimensions of 100 µm up to mm-scale) with (bio)ink volumes ranging from 100 pL to mL. The creation of dispensing patterns for 2D and 3D substrates is facilitated by a DXF file importer. Efficient processing of sensor and microfluidic foils is achieved through fast axes movement and fiducial reference marker recognition. Quality control is of paramount importance and AIT employs a range of methods (light microscopy, SEM, EDX, electrochemical testing) to ensure process integrity and accuracy.

Join AIT in setting new standards in molecular diagnostics, where innovation meets precision, sustainability, and excellence.

Trust M24You to deliver personalized, cutting-edge microarray instruments from R&D to full-scale automated production lines.

RESISTOVAC is one of the six lead projects in the second BMBF funding phase at the InfectoGnostics Research Campus Jena from 2020 to 2025. The aim of the project is to develop a laboratory-independent diagnostic system for the rapid and cost-effective determination of vaccination status and bacterial resistance factors. This involves the development of multiparameter tests, where a large number of measurement results can be determined in parallel with a single sample in a single test.

BiFlow Systems and M24You expand their collaboration

M24You and BiFlow Systems expand collaboration in manufacturing microfluidic IVD test kits at the highest quality level

June 2, 2021 | News room

BiFlow and M24You alliance underpins commitment to increase manufacturing availability for microfluidic rapid diagnostic testing

  • After many years of close collaboration both parties agreed for a joint activity in massive scaling-up the qualified manufacturing process under ISO9001/13485
  • In combination with state of the art manufacturing technology from M2-Automation with high precision dispensing technology to enable BiFlow to scale-up microfluidic (microarray) manufacturing across the business
  • Joint activities will include co-working at BiFlow Systems, Chemnitz (Germany), and at M2/ M24You GmbH, headquarters in Berlin (Germany)

Chemnitz and Berlin, Germany, June 2, 2021:   Today BiFlow announced an important step in collaborating and selecting M24You as their technology provider and science partner for this effort. M2-Automation/ M24You manufactures and supply full Automated High Precision Liquid Handling systems for the microfluidic IVD production process, scalable from R&D up Production for accelerating your development into diagnostic availability for global purposes.

M2-Automation’s key technology within Next-Generation High Precision Liquid Handling for diagnostic production platform allowing customers to operate within one system on different volume levels (picolitre, nanolitre, microlitre or millilitre) for ultimate high throughput manufacturing freedom, with real target recognition, dispensing process viewing or inline QC with auto-corrective sub-routines for perfectly produced diagnostics.

Dr. Jörg Nestler, Director of BiFlow Systems said: Since more than a decade we have been working on integrated microfluidic solutions for diagnostic applications. During the last years, we mainly focused on the amplification and the multi-parameter detection of DNA and RNA using fluorescence microarrays. With such microarrays it is possible– for example – to identify different bacterial species, antibiotic resistances or different viruses. To provide an even more complete solution for our customers we were looking for a certified partner with strong expertise in spotting technologies as well on microarray readout. With M24You we found an ideal partner for our future upscaling of manufacturing and for the joint development of new diagnostic solutions.Mr. Ron Wolbert, MSc., Director of M24You GmbH, added: “Our strategic alliance will combine BiFlow’s expertise powered by M2-Automation’s ultra-precision liquid handing technology within iFOUR, iTWO, iONE- or iZERO-platforms and tackles the biggest challenges mankind is facing: “advanced multiplexing with the goal of improvement the healthcare worldwide”.
